Nada India Acudetox Training workshop held at Visakhapatnam


Nada India Foundation & Indian Association of Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (IAADS)  organized a Training workshop on use of earacupuncture as per NADA Protocol for addiction treatment and general well being  held at 7 Radiations - SATCH office Visakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh on 12th Aug.2012 . The workshop was hosted by  7 Radiations - SATCH (Sanctum of Alternative Therapies and Conscious Healing) Vishkhapatanam (http://www.7radiations.org/). The workshop will be facilitated by Dr.James Doss, Nada India  convener (Karnataka ).

According to the local organiser Rachana Nitin, the NADA protocol has been globally accepted after undergoing a number of tests in clinical settings and has proved to be beneficial in detoxification from substance abuse as well as to help with the emotional, physical and psychological problems attributed to addictions.

Health An alternate therapy to kick your old habits that die hard
It started with just one or two a day and now I can’t live without it. It relieves my stress and makes my mind alert.
How often do we hear people say this when asked to quit smoking or any other addictive habit? For a few, what started off casually as a stress buster grips them so gradually that they don’t realise they are getting addicted. Many people desperately wish to release themselves from a toxic practice, whether it is alcoholism, drug abuse, sexual addiction, negative thinking, insomnia or depression....

...Suneel Vatsyayan, Chairman of NADA India Foundation says, “The therapy aims at bringing new life for those who want to overcome any kind of disorder or pathological pain through relaxation techniques.”
J. Maria Doss, a medical practitioner from Bangalore, talks of the benefits of the therapy. “Auricular-acupuncture therapy aims at treating people without using any medicines,” she says. “It is safe and globally accepted technique that has no side effects and follows simple relaxation methods. By identifying the points such as shen men, sympathetic, point zero, tranquilizer and lung point in the auricle (external ear), the urge to smoke or drink will be viewed in a different perspective altogether.” She says the person will be transformed and able to withdraw from any type of addiction....

'NADA acupuncture is a public health model... says Dr. Michael.O. Smith

'NADA acupuncture is a public health model that adds a valuable component to the behavioral health fields', says Dr. Michael.O. Smith, Some were dozing off;some with  drooping.heads;some in a sort of trance;some snoring off. They all had one thing in common- sterilized  acupuncture  needles carefully pierced in one of  their ears. It was a cloudy and chilly  February afternoon in Delhi. Even some of the large contingent of journalists who routinely take the flights of steps at the reception of the I N S building in Rafi Marg were inquisitive. Deborah Valentine Smith I recently attended an excellent webinar on t he African American History of Acupuncture by  Dr.  Tenisha Dandridge, hosted by Acupuncturists without Borders. The history of Lincoln Hospital and Lincoln Detox in the 1970’s was of special interest to me,  as I participated in much of it and may have a unique perspective, as I was married to Mike Smith at the time. While I appreciated much of the history shared in this Webinar, I can’t agree with a couple of the statements about Mike. The statement in Dr. Dandridge’s presentation that “he did not approve of the politics brought with the free clinics,” makes it sound like Mike did not approve of the free clinics themselves.
